Before we moved in 1964 I spent a lot of time playing in the basement, especially underneath the basement stairs. The basement was unfinished and I didn't see any trace of a his business in the house. Though in 64 that's when he got his first shop on Rochester. I remember there was an old player piano in the basement that we left behind when we moved. I grew in 580 Wavell (mid-60s to mid-80s)and would like to comment that Mr Morrison must have run his business from the basement as, unusually, the basement ran the full width of the house including underneath the double garage. In addition to the two garage doors, there was a third walk-through door at the front of the garage and a flight of stairs to the basement which were open to the double garage. A heavy door at the bottom of the stairs could only be locked from the inside and there was another interior door which separated this portion of the basement from the rest of the basement rooms.Mrs E Wilson Paulnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3014517712539920451.post-84050905983909160782018-07-21T11:08:57.522-04:002018-07-21T11:08:57.522-04:00Thanks for posting!
